Conan: Crown of Iron will not be Made 

Aint it Cool News and Filmforce were the first sites to report that the Conan: Crown of Iron project had been cancelled.

Conan: Crown of Iron was to be the third installment in the Conan Movie franchise. Jon Milius, had created two drafts of the Crown of Iron scripts and was very anxious to get this project going. According to Milius' office, Warner Brothers and the Wachowski's, who were set to produce the film, were occupied with the Matrix sequels and could not set a start date for any Conan project. Conan Properties, the group who 'owns' the rights to the Conan character, did not want to wait years before the project started rolling. Plus, it appears that the company wants to create a more appealing movie for that big opening weekend using a younger Conan instead of the bearded, mature Conan, and create the film to garner a PG or PG-13 rating to attract more movie goers.

Milius' office is not very happy about the situation. John Milius is a big fan of the character, of Howard, and especially of Frazetta's artwork depicting the character. He wanted to get this film made.

What can be done about it? Well, email, email, and email. Send email to Warner Bros, the Wachowski's office, and to Conan properties. It has happened before where the fans send in enough mail, the offices do pay attention.

Other than that, all fans must now wait and see what kind of script will be created for the next Conan installment.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Again, another character stuck in limbo amid creative differences and legal rambling. The spiderman movie was 20 years in the making becuase of such in-fighting. One can only hope the same thing will not happen to Conan the Cimmerian.
